1 Year Contract: $ 70,200.00 Yearly Contract ($1350.00 Weekly)
We are currently looking to fulfill a one (1) year contract position for an ITS Design Specialist. The candidate, if selected, will be joining a dynamic team of resources with a wide breadth of experience and skills who will strive to enable and assist each other to succeed. With the goal of providing an excellent customer experience to both external and internal clients, while touching on many different technologies. You will be part of a national team focused on Planning and Engineering for WAN Enhanced solutions, design processes necessary to deliver voice, data, and third-wave services. As an ITS Design Specialist, you are a networking and technology enthusiast who is excited to go hands-on with new third-wave services such as Network as a Service (NaaS), SD-WAN and Secure Cloud Connect. You’ll evolve with us to become nimbler and more efficient to meet the increasing needs and expectations of our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the design of WAN and SD-WAN products and services to meet functional requirements or performance specifications and follow the standard guidelines.
- Create more complicated components of larger design projects on which the basic design has been defined.
Work in the Markham, Ontario office with the ITS Team - Partner with the internal team to successfully deliver on due dates
- Responsible for the solution of problems of moderate scope and complexity
- Communicate/clarify the customer requirements with the Team.
- Keep well-informed of the latest technological developments relating to the field of practice.
- With guidance, prepares feasibility studies, project plans and provides information, advice and design assistance
- Produces analyses to support response to customer concerns regarding quality, facilitating corrective and preventive action
- Responsible for basic elements, network and terminal configuration design and implementation
- Be responsible for successfully completing assignments on time and within budget
- Maintain complete and accurate project documentation and records of all activities, licenses, etc.

Skills and Experience
- Required Certifications or equivalent experience: CCNA, CCNP
- Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS, Juniper JUNOS and other vendor router/switch OS
- Hands-on experience and good understanding of networking concepts: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, DS3, T1, Frame Relay, ATM, and DSL
- In-depth knowledge of the configuration and maintenance of routers, hubs, bridges, and switches
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Requires judgement in making and owning technical decisions
- Works well under general supervision
- Known for successfully managing multiple tasks
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and French)
- Effective presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of diverse groups and teams (internal and/or external) to effectively introduce and implement change in the workplace
- Post-secondary degree/diploma and/or certification and/or equivalent industry-related work experience
- Familiarity with IOT products and experience with SDN (Software Defined Network) is desired but not a must
