Audio Visual – Business Manager

We are currently looking for a Business Manager-Audio Visual to join our team. This role will be a subject matter expert on the AV products contained in the Activo Product line and will help to build and develop the practice area.

This role will include the following areas of accountability:

Business Management:

  • Develop overall business plan for this practice towards achieving market growth and incremental sales
  • Refine growth plans on an ongoing basis as new opportunities come into play
  • Identify ways to build security market by means of sales of service and solution bundling (with AV)

Program Development

  • Develop Program to best deliver services
  • Develop training initiatives to ensure staff are capable of handling the projects required for this line of business
  • Develop a certification program
  • Develop product presentations for the sales force.

Partner Relations

  • Build visibility with vendors and partners to create a competitive advantage for Activo AV products
  • Developing strong partnerships towards ensuring best in class training and certification
  • Identify new customer targets and execute a strategy to acquire and develop them
  • Works within customer accounts to position product line
  • Build visibility with vendors and customers to create a competitive advantage for Activo AV products

Technical Knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge of products in assigned portfolio
  • Good knowledge of AV industry

Audio/Visual Installer/Technician

Job Description

In this vital position, the Audio Visual Technician will be responsible for service calls, installing required hardware, troubleshooting to ensure the installed systems work flawlessly, explaining the system to the client and answering any questions the client may have.  This position requires strong technical skills, with 3-5 years experience in the industry, as well as excellent communication skills. We are looking for candidates who are dynamic and professional, able to multi-task and able to work independently.

Desired Skills and Experience

3-5 years experience as a commercial audio visual installation technician and have experience with the following:

  • Crestron/AMX controls.
  • Extron switchers.
  • Polycom and TANDBERG/Cisco videoconferencing products.
  • Working knowledge of basic hand tools.
  • Good mechanical/fabrication and soldering skills.
  • Ability to accurately read wiring diagrams.
  • Direct supervisory experience with excellent communication skills.

Please Note: This job involves some heavy lifting and the AV Technician will sometimes have to go up on 25-30 ft. lift.


The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Direct supervision of employee and contract installation technicians.
  • Training customers on Activo systems.
  • Provide technical support to the sales representatives when needed.
  • Install low voltage cabling, wiring, termination, rack building and equipment as per project company standards.
  • Troubleshoot and service installed systems and components.
  • Review and understand schematics, technical drawings & equipment lists.
  • Providing end user system training when required.

Security Technician

Ideally, candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in the installation and service of Intrusion, Access Control and/or CCTV systems.
