About the Role

Compensation: $25 – $35 per hour commensurate with experience
We are seeking an experienced Intermediate/Senior Security Technician with strong structured cabling experience to join our growing team serving London, Ontario and the surrounding area. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of electronic security systems in commercial, industrial, and institutional environments.
This role is ideal for a self-motivated technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, can work independently or as part of a team, and is comfortable interacting with clients on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic security systems, including:
- Access control systems
- CCTV / IP video surveillance systems
- Intrusion detection systems
- Perform structured cabling tasks, including pulling, terminating, funnelling, labelling, and testing low-voltage cabling (CAT5e/CAT6, coax, fibre) as an asset
- Read and interpret cabling drawings and as-built documentation
- Program, configure, and commission security systems as required
- Diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently and professionally
- Complete work orders, service reports, and documentation accurately
- Communicate clearly with customers, project managers, and internal teams
- Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices
- Travel to various client sites within London, ON and surrounding areas
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years (Intermediate) or 5+ years (Senior) of hands-on experience in the electronic security industry
- Strong background in structured cabling and low-voltage installations
- Experience with access control and CCTV systems (manufacturer experience considered an asset)
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and floor plans
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in various site conditions
- The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory criminal background check as a condition of employment
Preferred Assets (Not Required)
- Industry certifications (e.g., manufacturer certifications, BICSI, CFAA, or similar)
- Experience with IP networking fundamentals
- Experience working in commercial or institutional facilities
- Previous mentoring or leadership experience (Senior level)
