About the Position:
Activo is looking to hire full-time Intermediate/Senior Cable Technicians with 2 – 4 years of proven experience installing, terminating, and testing a variety of copper and fibre optic cabling types.

- Ability to travel and stay out of town, for short periods of time, within the province of Quebec
- Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel and other commonly used software programs)
Role Description
Overview
The technician will be involved in the installation, termination, and testing of Cat 5E/6/6A copper systems and MM/SM fibre optic cabling systems. Work may also include installing racks/cabinets, rack-and-stack network hardware, access points, placing telephone sets, and other similar work.
Compensation
This is a full-time, hourly-paid position at $28–$35 an hour. Company benefits are also included after three (3) months of employment
Technical Expertise
The prerequisite for this position is four (4) years of prior field experience. The Senior Technician will focus on the following additional technical skills. This technician will be trained to work with a Foreman, focused on learning the following technical requirements of this position.

Responsibilities
- Work cooperatively with company support staff and the National Customer Support Centre for any Service and/or MAC requests.
- Receive of all company purchased materials, hardware, etc., that are related to your assigned tickets, and enter all quantities received in tickets for receiving materials.
- Accept accountability for the financial performance (budget hours, materials, etc.) of the work you are assigned.
- Ensure to update all tickets for work completed through the Company-owned Smartphone device.
- Ensure that you provide and upload into the system all final documents, updates and information required by the customers for any Service, MAC or support requests.
- At all times, we must maintain a positive relationship with the customer representative and all company staff.
- Ensure all company-owned tools, test or termination equipment provided are kept in good working order
- Adherence to all HR policies, procedures, and health & safety practices, including the Company Employee Drivers Safety policy.
- Complete all work in a safe manner, with the highest quality standards, while adhering to the technical design of the work as provided by the customer.

Have a valid provincial Driver’s License
Have the required hand tools as indicated in the Company Handbook.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs.

Ability to safely operate a 40’ platform height manlift
Ability to safely operate a 40’ platform height boom lift
